Project Introduction
GeoDesign would incite fresh perspectives towards park design, where we seek to revolutionise the way people perceive parks. After an intensive and comprehensive research done by our team, we present our idea of how we envision parks to be like in the future

Our team’s main focus of analysis is on Bishan Park. Employing a multi-pronged approach to improve park utilization, we aim to enhance park visitors' experience by recommending best spots and facilitate park planners in evaluating and promoting optimal park utilization. We work towards attaining best spots in the park from 10am to 7pm. From the twelve different categories of data collected with our self-built sensor kits, we focused on humidity and temperature at various parts of the park (due to data quality reasons). We have compute the data into time frame of 3 hours intervals over the period of 10am to 7pm. Weighted Raster Analysis is used to perform analysis on these data. With great enthusiasm, we went the extra mile to collect footfall and activities data to find out if there is any correlation between the environmental data and human activity. Kernel Density Estimation, Local Moran’s I and Service Area Network Analysis are used as analysis tools. Our passion did not stop here; it brought us further to investigate if there is a relationship between the amenities available, walking accessibility and the human activity and environmental data collected. Through our project, we aspire to facilitate the better provision and utilization of parks in the future as we progress towards becoming a Smart Nation.
